When I’m not spending as much time as possible with my best friend and husband John and our three crazy boys, I’m working diligently on keeping up with my blog Everyday Paleo as well as working as a coach at Norcal Strength and Conditioning, one of Americas top 30 gyms as rated by Men’s Health Magazine. I am also the national best selling author of the book Everyday Paleo as well as author of Paleo Pals:Jimmy and the Carrot Rocket Ship and Paleo Pals: The Cookbook, both to be released in 2012. I have dedicated my life to helping others obtain true health and wellness through paleo nutrition and fitness. My own life has been drastically changed for the better since adopting a paleo lifestyle and I’m beyond proud to be part of a movement that works. To finally be healthy is overwhelming and has brought a sense of joy to my existence that is truly indescribable. When I look around at how unhealthy the majority of our society is, this fact makes my heart pound, my temperature rise, and the hair stand up on the back of my neck because I KNOW there is an answer and I want to shout it from the hilltops. I urge you to turn off your TV’s, ignore the media’s hype about the latest fad diet, the newest pharmaceutical, and the trendiest celebrity workout program and INSTEAD listen to your body, your common sense, and the words of wisdom from countless others who have ignored the conventional ideas of how to be healthy. Now I want you to tune in to your genetic cry for real food and smart exercise because believe it or not, you can be strong, you can be healthy, and you can be the best possible YOU with JassaFIT.
I am a husband to my beautiful wife, Sheryl, and a father to my 3 magnificent daughters, Liesel, Capri, and Daphne. I am co-owner of Clackamas Physical Conditioning in Oregon, and I write for Sarah’s excellent blog, Everyday Paleo. After my wife and 3 little girls, fitness and nutrition are unparalleled passions in my life. I’m not sure how I got this way, but I would prefer to read studies and scientific articles than do pretty much anything else that might occupy my time, with the exception of applying my knowledge to help people reach their goals. I take great pleasure in playing the roll of the heretic. Mainstream nutrition and fitness are so badly broken that the scientific truths about health, fitness, and weight loss are near mirror opposites of accepted “common knowledge”, and I love helping people find those truths. I guess you could say that empowering people with a much needed new perspective is how I get my kicks. I have a great career and a successful gym in which to get those kicks, and now I also have JassaFIT and access to anyone and everyone who is looking for better health, fitness, and longevity. Life is good!
I’ve always had a strong passion for helping others and I am so thankful that I have the ability to do so everyday as a doctor of chiropractic. As a doctor and an athlete, I’m a huge advocate of patient education and active patient care; the more you know about your body and the more you can do outside of my office to help yourself, the better off you will be, period! I take a very well rounded approach to health; it’s not just about getting pain free. If your body is broken, simply getting out of pain will not fix it, the reality is your body needs a combination of strength, proper flexibility/mobility, and sound nutrition to function optimally and attain true health. The Paleo lifestyle provides this path to true health and wellness. Through Paleo I’ve seen lives change, in and out of the office, from professional and collegiate athletes to parents and young children. The bottom line is this stuff works; it’s been a life changing experience for my beautiful wife, 3 amazing boys and myself and I’m excited to share my knowledge and experience through JassaFIT so that others can also reap the benefits of the Paleo Lifestyle.
